What is SimpleOverload?
SimpleOverload manages progressive overload. That's it. No socials, no streaks, no subscriptions, no clutter.
Log your workout with a single tap. The app tracks your lifts and tells you the weight and reps to aim for next session. You focus on training; it handles the numbers.
No accounts or integrations. No data leaves your phone.
What is progressive overload?
Progressive overload just means gradually asking more of your body over time: a little more weight, an extra rep, or another set than you managed before. If your training stays exactly the same week after week, your progress tends to stall, which is why gradually increasing the demand is a core principle in strength-training guidelines for people who want to keep improving.¹
The extra work doesn't have to come from heavier weights. Research comparing adding reps against adding load found both build muscle to a similar degree, provided the sets are taken close to failure.² If your main goal is maximal strength rather than size, heavier loads have an advantage.³ In practice the principle is simple: aim to do slightly more than last time.
